Assistant Professorship International Economics
Welcome to the website of Konstantin M. Wacker
I joined the JGUM faculty as an assistant professor (W1) in April 2015. My research focuses on the empirical analysis of capital flows (especially FDI), the international financial system, and long-run effects of macroeconomic volatility. I received a PhD in economics and applied statistics from the University of Göttingen (2012) and also studied in Vienna, Alicante, and Beijing. Besides from academic work, I gained comprehensive policy experience working as an economist for the macro department of the World Bank (2013-2015), at an Austrian government agency (2005-2009) and at short-term assignments at the European Central Bank (2012/13) and the International Monetary Fund (2011).
